Video Interpreter Responsibilities 🎤🌐

• Deliver effective video remote interpreting services for clients, with occasional audio calls as needed.
• Adhere to policies and procedures outlined by AMN Language Services.
• Exemplify professionalism through regular attendance, punctuality, preparedness, respectful collaboration, and accurate record-keeping.
• Adapt swiftly to new technologies and training requirements.
• Complete training sessions on video platforms and pass internal readiness checks before handling live calls.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring programs to maintain high standards.

Required Qualifications ✅

• Fluent in both source and target languages with strong verbal communication skills.
• Successful completion of a medical language proficiency assessment focusing on interpreter protocols and medical terminology.
• Respect and understanding of LEP clients, including their culture, dialect, beliefs, and healthcare preferences.

Preferred Qualifications 🌟

• 2-5 years of professional U.S. medical interpreting experience.
• National interpreting certifications such as CCHI or CMI.
• Degrees or certifications related to interpreting practices.
• Completion of accredited medical interpreting courses (e.g., ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training).
• Extensive knowledge of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• Familiarity with medical privacy laws (HIPAA) and other applicable legal standards.

Home Office Requirements 🏡🔒

• Private room with full-length (floor-to-ceiling) walls.
• Door that can be securely closed and locked for privacy.
• Hardwired high-speed internet connection.
• This role must be performed in a company-approved private office; it cannot be executed from public spaces or travel trailers.

Physical Requirements 🧑‍💻💪

• Ability to sit for up to 8 hours.
• Use of an on-ear headset during the entire shift.
• Operate a web camera for interactions in medical scenarios.
• Visual abilities required include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, talk, and hear as needed.

Work Details & Eligibility 📋🔑

Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Job Type: Part-time, with a fixed schedule of 20-28 hours per week.

Pay Range: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour (rate varies based on experience, training, and location).
