Position: Mandarin Head Teacher (ECE 2)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated ECE-2 Mandarin Teacher to inspire and nurture our young learners. This role commences in Fall 2026 and focuses on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Major Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes at designated times and locations, adhering to schedule requirements.
- Design a differentiated curriculum that meets the diverse linguistic, cultural, and academic needs of students, including their interests and readiness levels.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' developmental stages.
- Promote positive classroom behavior standards and encourage students to maintain them.
- Guide the learning process toward accomplishing curriculum goals, establishing clear lesson, project, and unit objectives, and communicating these to students.
- Implement a variety of instructional strategies, including immersion techniques and media, tailored to meet the needs and capabilities of individual and group learners.
- Align instruction with HWIS' educational philosophy and instructional goals.
- Assess student progress regularly, including linguistic benchmarks in the target language, and provide progress reports as required.
- Ensure safety by taking all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with law, policy, and regulations
- Assist in implementing policies related to student life and conduct
- Be accessible to students and parents for educational support
- Strive for professional growth through ongoing development, attending staff meetings, curriculum sessions, and serving on committees
- Encourage colleagues' professional advancement
Qualifications
- Native Mandarin speaker
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in early childhood or elementary education
- Teacher certification in the relevant subject area (preferred)
- Alternatives acceptable as deemed appropriate by administration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities
- Proficiency with computers, including internet, MS Office, and classroom technology
