Job Functions

• Deliver professional interpreting sessions: Provide effective video and audio interpreting in a courteous and accurate manner.
• Data capture: Record company-provided data during interpreting sessions when required.
• Technology adaptation: Quickly adapt to new and evolving interpreting technologies.
• Maintain ethical standards: Follow interpreter ethics and procedural guidelines relevant to each interpreting context.
• Cultural sensitivity: Demonstrate respect and understanding for clients’ culture, dialect, beliefs, and preferences.

Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency: Strong verbal skills in Mandarin/Cantonese and English.

• Proficiency assessment: Successful completion or hold of a national certification.
• Knowledge of ethics: Familiarity with IMIA, NBCMI, and NCIHC standards.
• HIPAA compliance: Ability to work in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
• Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• Language skills: Ability to read and write in Mandarin, Cantonese, or English.
• Certifications: Degrees or certifications in interpreting practices.
• Medical certification: National Medical Interpreter Certification (CCHI, NBCMI, or DSHS).
• Training courses: Completed accredited medical interpreting courses (e.g., ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, etc.).
