About the Organization

The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to fostering a vibrant Jewish community in northern New Jersey. Our mission includes caring for those in need, deepening Jewish engagement, and strengthening connections among Jews locally, in Israel, and worldwide.

Position Summary

The Manager will oversee the planning and execution of large-scale Israel programs, engaging diverse demographics within our community. A key element of success involves meaningful collaboration with a lay leader committee and coordination with our fundraising team.

This role includes managing Israel programming, an Israel Film series, and the Federation’s Partnership Program with Nahariya, Israel. The Manager will also contribute to the Federation’s fundraising strategies through strategic programming and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement impactful Israel programs that connect and engage the northern New Jersey community with Israel.
  • Manage the Partnership Program—connecting northern New Jersey with Nahariya, Israel—by organizing joint programming, trip itineraries, and community visits to foster strong bridges between communities.
  • Lead the Israel Film Series, ensuring a dynamic and engaging cultural experience.
  • Recruit, manage, and steward lay leadership for the Center’s committees, including specific subcommittees such as Partnership and Film Series.
  • Develop programs with fundraising elements to support Federation’s goals, collaborating closely with the fundraising team.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and community organizations to maximize impact.
  • Participate in organization-wide events as part of staff team efforts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in Jewish programming
  • Proven experience working with lay leadership and committees
  • Strong passion for Israel; knowledge of Hebrew is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Experience in program and budget management
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment ⚔
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and self-motivation
  • Sense of humor and adaptability 😊
  • Strong commitment to Federation’s mission
  • Knowledge of the local Jewish community and fundraising experience is a plus
  • Availability for some evening and Sunday work
  • Willingness to travel to Israel as needed āœˆļø
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools

Compensation & Application

The salary range is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience, accompanied by an excellent benefits package.
