Now Hiring: Major Gifts Officer

Friends of Yad Sarah is seeking a passionate Major Gifts Officer to cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors. The focus will be on securing significant gifts to support the organization's mission. This role involves developing personalized outreach strategies to ensure donors remain engaged and see the impact of their contributions. With annual fundraising goals between $5–$10 million, this position plays a key role in driving organizational growth and expanding philanthropic support. 🤝

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and execute personalized fundraising strategies.
  • Create and implement strategic development plans aimed at increasing donor engagement and support.
  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors at various giving levels, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Regularly update donor information, interactions, and engagement activities within the CRM database.
  • Oversee systems for tracking and advancing donor prospects through the cultivation pipeline.
  • Assist in gathering program statistics, budget updates, and relevant information from the Israel office to inform donor communications.
  • Plan and execute stewardship initiatives to keep donors informed, appreciated, and connected to the organization’s impact.
  • Monitor and track legacy gifts in the pipeline to support financial planning and forecasting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Passion for and alignment with the mission of Friends of Yad Sarah.
  • 5+ years of nonprofit development experience, ideally within social services, the Jewish community, or Israel-related organizations.
  • Professional, resourceful, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to initiate strategies for donor cultivation and pipeline growth.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management systems.
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Hebrew is a plus.
