Lower School Teaching Assistant Positions
We are actively looking for experienced Lower School Teaching Assistants specializing in both General Studies and Judaic Studies. Founded over 70 years ago, Seattle Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School serving the greater Seattle area. We provide outstanding academics and inspired Judaic Studies to students from Early Childhood through 8th Grade. - Possess knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods
Teacher Assistant Responsibilities 📝
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to monitor daily class activities and schedule.
- Assist with lesson planning, including preparing materials and setting up equipment.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to support learning.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and field trips.
- Partner with teachers to identify student challenges and suggest solutions.
- Document student progress and communicate updates to parents.
- Help create and implement engaging lesson plans.
- Follow all school, state, and classroom policies and regulations.
- Attend professional training sessions, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
- Supervise recess and lunch duties to ensure student safety.
Teacher Assistant Requirements 🌟
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
- At least 2 years of experience as a teaching assistant or similar role
- Solid understanding of classroom management and teaching strategies
- Compassionate, positive attitude, and dedication to student success
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
