About the Role

The Instructional Aide will support classroom teachers to create a positive, engaging, and productive learning environment for elementary students. This position involves working with small groups or individual learners, preparing learning materials, and assisting with classroom management. We seek someone who is patient, adaptable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping children thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support: Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce lessons delivered by the teacher.
• Assist with academic tasks: Support students with reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
• Prepare educational materials: Organize worksheets, games, manipulatives, and other resources.
• Support classroom management: Help maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
• Supervise students: Oversee students during activities, transitions, and recess periods.
• Collaborate effectively: Communicate progress and student needs clearly with the teacher.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or an Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Skills: Ability to assist with instruction and classroom management, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in student development.
• Teamwork: Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with staff.
