We are seeking a talented Linguist to join our team on-site in New York, Burlingame, CA, and Seattle, WA. This role focuses on developing language components for voice-enabled technologies and products, supporting multilingual data processing and model optimization. 🚀

Job Overview

As a Linguist, you will leverage your native fluency in Korean and expertise in linguistic data analysis and language technology to manage data collection, enable large language model (LLM) data synthesis, annotation, prompt engineering, localization, and quality evaluation tasks. 🎯

Degrees & Certifications 📜

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree

Interview Process ⏱️

  • First Round: 45-minute behavioral interview for validation
  • Second Round: 45-minute technical interview, including example tasks and a coderpad link

Interview Format 💻

  • Zoom interview lasting approximately 45 minutes

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide linguistic expertise in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics
  • Collaborate with linguists and data operations teams on data collection, curation, translation, localization, and annotation efforts
  • Evaluate and curate datasets for ML models using LLM solutions
  • Assess model and data quality
  • Engage in prompt engineering to optimize language model performance
  • Develop complex and consistent linguistic analyses collaboratively

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Korean
  • Relevant academic background:
    • Master’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Speech Science, or related fields
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience if applicable
    • PhD in Linguistics, Romance Languages, Language Technologies, or related specialties (preferred)
  • Experience with RegEx, SQL, Python
  • Knowledge of Indian languages, cultural nuances, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics
  • Experience working with speech and text data across multiple languages
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and NLP applications
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic work environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and NLP libraries (preferred)

Additional Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with database queries and data analysis tools (e.g., R, Unix)
  • Knowledge of language technologies and speech science
