📝 I. Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Community Life Leader, the Life Enhancement Coordinator is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes patient dignity and choice. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized activities, participate in unit duties, leverage innovative technology, and enhance the social atmosphere. Every interaction aims to be positive, meaningful, and enriching for patients and their families.

🎯 III. Key Responsibilities

• 🔧 Oversee the operation of Community Life on assigned floors
• 🤝 Act as a professional liaison across departments
• 🧩 Assess patients’ abilities to tailor therapeutic programs addressing physical, cognitive, psychosocial, spiritual, and sensory needs
• 🎯 Develop and communicate goal-oriented treatment plans to enhance health and well-being
• 📞 Update families on patient progress respecting HIPAA regulations
• 💻 Support virtual connections and facilitate family interactions
• 🩺 Provide direct patient care and collaborate on treatment plan implementation
• 🗣 Communicate clearly with patients, families, team members, and staff
• 🧼 Adapt programs to infection control policies as needed
• 🌱 Lead specialized programming development with community leaders
• 🖥 Utilize computer applications including MS Office, streaming, and internal systems
• 📝 Document patient progress accurately and timely
• 📅 Prepare monthly schedules and coordinate programs and events
• 🙌 Guide volunteers and hire external vendors to enhance programs
• 🔄 Participate in process improvements and community outreach initiatives
• 🤝 Foster relationships within the community for intergenerational and community-based programs
• 🔔 Keep patients informed about programs and coordinate logistical support
• 📖 Conduct in-service training for staff and volunteers
• 🧹 Maintain departmental tidiness and professionalism
• 🎓 Engage in continuous learning through classes, workshops, and conferences
• 🤝 Support onboarding and training of new staff, students, and volunteers
• 🛠 Assist with documentation and process audits as needed
• 🎓 Mentor students and volunteers
• 🩺 Collaborate on floor projects and person-centered care initiatives
• 📦 Manage equipment and supply inventory
• 🔧 Perform other duties as assigned to support community life

🎓 IV. Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Therapeutic Recreation or Expressive Therapies preferred
• 📝 Experience in Recreation Therapy or related fields
• 💻 Proficiency in relevant computer applications
• 🗣 Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• 🤝 Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• 🔥 Initiative and proactive attitude
• 🚧 Maintain therapeutic boundaries

⚙️ V. Physical Requirements

• 👃 Exposure to various odors, sights, and sounds during patient contact
• 🦽 Push wheelchairs on flat surfaces and ramps (up to 50 lbs)
• 🧤 Wear gloves and masks occasionally
• 🚶 Standing, walking, sitting, and assisting with patient transfers
• 📦 Lift supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs
• 🔄 Reach, stoop, squat, bend, kneel, and crouch as needed
