About the Role

An international renewable energy platform is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to support its renewable energy portfolio in Vietnam. This pivotal position involves advising on project development, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and operational legal matters related to utility-scale renewable energy assets and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support across project development, construction, operational, and commercial activities within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors ⚡
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial and project-related agreements, including construction, operations, land, and financing documentation 📄
• Support permitting, licensing, and regulatory approval processes in collaboration with internal teams and external authorities 📝
• Advise on compliance with local legal and regulatory frameworks concerning energy, infrastructure, environmental, and investment matters 🌏
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks during project execution, operations, and contractual negotiations ⚠️
• Support dispute management, claims handling, and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed 🤝
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, engineering, construction, finance, and asset management 🔄
• Assist with investment, acquisition, and transaction activities as required 💼
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business, ensuring ongoing compliance initiatives 📈

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law from a reputable university 🎓
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant legal experience in private practice and/or in-house roles 🔍
• Experience supporting infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, or large-scale commercial projects is highly preferred 💡
• Strong understanding of Vietnamese legal and regulatory frameworks related to energy and infrastructure projects 🇻🇳
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and project-related agreements ✍️
• Excellent English communication and drafting skills, with native-level Vietnamese legal drafting capabilities 🇻🇳📝
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment ⚡
