Instruction formats may include in-person, hybrid, or online sessions for both individual and group classes. Instructors should be located within the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia regions.

Application Process & Candidate Pool 🎯

Instructor Responsibilities 📝

  • Plan and conduct engaging language classes, utilizing various methodologies to develop speaking, listening, and reading skills. Materials are typically provided.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and use established training resources.
  • Support students through encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Manage classroom environments to foster respect and student-centered learning.
  • Evaluate student progress through informal or formal assessments, weekly quizzes, and progress reports.
  • Attend meetings as needed, and incorporate instructional technology to enhance learning.
  • Maintain online classrooms environment as necessary.

Qualifications 🎓

  • At least 3 years of experience teaching adult learners in the target language.
  • Earned BA/BS, MA/MS, or Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in any field.
  • Minimum 3 years experience teaching proficiency-based or task-based curricula.
  • At least 1 year administering proficiency assessments (e.g., ACTFL OPI exams).
  • English proficiency level of 2:2 on the ILR scale or higher.
  • Must be a native speaker of the designated language.
