🎯 Job Overview

SOSi is looking for Armenian, Hebrew, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, and Turkish Language Linguists to join our team. These specialists will perform a variety of communication and translation duties in support of our customer’s requirements. Additional languages may include Albanian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Byelorussian, Czech, Estonian, Georgian, Hungarian, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Latvian, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Macedonian, Romansh, Slovak, Slovene, Tajik, Ukrainian, Uzbek, and Yiddish. 🌐

📝 Essential Responsibilities

• Monitoring & Translation: Listen to oral and electronic communication intercepts, providing immediate oral summaries in English, followed by written summaries per government specifications.
• Operational Tasks: Operate related equipment such as recording devices, televisions, computers, and digital systems as directed.
• Summarization: Prepare detailed summaries including timestamps, relevant information, and accurate translations or transcriptions.
• Identification & Documentation: Correctly identify conversants, enter data into digital media, and sign or initial documents as required.
• Data Management: Maintain slang/code word lists, prepare digital copies for storage, and perform administrative duties like organizing logs and reports.
• Task Comprehension & Compliance: Understand specific processing tasks and comply with all Court regulations concerning minimization procedures.

🎙️ Translator & Transcriber Duties

• Translation & Transcription: Convert audio/video recordings, documents, maps, charts, and other materials from various English and foreign languages into accurate English or bilingual transcripts, adhering to specified formats.
• Identification & Accuracy: Identify conversants using voice libraries or context, ensuring error-free, verbatim translations without omissions.
• Formatting: Maintain formats consistent with original sources; utilize proper grammar, punctuation, and format as instructed.
• Quality Assurance: Work under supervision to deliver precise translations, ensuring all translations and transcriptions meet government standards.
