📝 Job Overview

In this exciting role, you will oversee the KYC (Know Your Customer) process for our corporate clients within the Japanese Banking Americas team (JBA). JBA delivers essential banking services to Japanese corporate clients in the Americas, ensuring compliance and smooth onboarding.

Core Responsibilities

  • Client Outreach
    • Assess required KYC information and documents based on client status.
    • Contact clients to gather necessary KYC details promptly and professionally.
    • Ensure the accuracy of the obtained information and share it with relevant departments for downstream processing.
    • Communicate with Relationship Managers regarding client updates.
    • Independently resolve any issues collaborating with RMs to complete the KYC process without delay.
  • KYC Due Date Control
    • Manage KYC progress proactively without direct supervision.
    • Share progress updates with relevant departments to ensure timely due diligence and adherence to deadlines.
  • Understanding of KYC Requirements and Systems
    • Stay informed on regulations, internal policies, and procedures related to KYC.
    • Familiarize with bank systems to facilitate accurate assessments.
  • Additional Responsibilities

    Handle other ad-hoc tasks assigned by managers beyond KYC duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to comprehend policies and procedures in both languages.
  • Excellent business email communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in client service preferred.
  • Ability to work independently without immediate supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary ranges from $85,000 - $100,000, based on skills, experience, education, and certifications. In addition to a competitive salary, employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a generous benefits package.

Additional Requirements & Work Environment

  • Mizuho maintains a hybrid working program with flexible remote work options depending on role requirements, department needs, and local laws.
  • Some roles may require more in-office presence, which will be communicated during recruitment.
