Position Overview

Are you an experienced and highly qualified Kurdish (Sorani) and Arabic Translator seeking your next challenge? Leidos has an exciting role for you! We need a proficient linguist capable of handling a broad range of activities with professionalism and precision. Success in this role requires the ability to identify and summarize factual and abstract information effectively, triage documentation, and extract nuanced details. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and web research, are essential. Additionally, excellent English verbal communication skills are needed to deliver briefings confidently.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Translation: Accurately translate reports and texts—both electronic and hard copy—containing factual and nuanced language, capturing implications and cultural elements in the target language.
• Interpretation: Provide consecutive interpretation with proficiency, and on rare occasions, simultaneous interpretation. Must understand regional dialects.
• Transcription: Review audio or online materials and transcribe with high accuracy and expression, demonstrating excellent English written communication skills.

What Sets You Apart

• No clearance is required to apply.
• Successful candidates will receive sponsorship for security clearance and upgrades as needed.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required prior to starting work.
• Educational background of BA/BS, military training, or Masters with relevant experience (4–8 years for BA/BS or 2–6 years for Masters). Equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Must pass a language test administered by Leidos or an approved testing vendor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deployment experience advocating contingency operations as a linguist.
• Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptology, and law enforcement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both target language and English.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is highly desirable.

Travel OCONUS is a requirement. Candidates must be available for 24/7 support during travel.
