Prisma International, Inc. is a vibrant, expanding language services provider dedicated to delivering top-tier translation solutions globally. We are currently seeking skilled, professional KOREAN translators to become part of our exclusive ELECTIONS team.
About the Role
As an independent contractor, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality written translations between English and Korean. Candidates with previous Elections experience, excellent time management skills, and a passion for linguistic excellence are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Requirements ✅
- Reside within the United States
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Possess at least five (5) years of professional translation experience related to U.S. government offices (local, state, or federal) as a contractor, sub-contractor, employee, freelancer, or volunteer — with two (2) of these years acquired within the last five years
- Submit a resume clearly outlining your government-related translation experience, including dates
- Have elections experience (a plus)
- Availability to support Prisma during evenings, weekends, and holidays during election cycles
- Willingness to agree to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and related Addenda
- Proficiency in English and native-level fluency in the target language(s)
- Reliable desktop PC or laptop with secure, high-speed internet
- Experience using modern CAT tools (e.g., XTM, Trados)
- Adobe Acrobat installed with functionality to use markup tools on PDFs
Credentials (At Least ONE Required) 📝
- Current voting member in good standing of the American Translators Association (ATA)
- Member in good standing with the American Association of Language Specialists
- Certified Vietnamese translator through the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia
- Certified/Registered on the California Judicial Council Master List
- Recognized by an accrediting agency approved by the US Secretary of Education
- Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
If you do not possess one of the above credentials, you may still qualify if you meet all the following:
- Native speaker of the target language
- Education in both English and the target language, with relevant academic background outlined in your resume
- At least five (5) years of professional translation experience for U.S. government entities as a contractor/sub-contractor, with two (2) of those years within the last five years
Key Tasks & Responsibilities 🎯
- Provide written translations using CAT tools (we provide XTM)
- Follow all project instructions, glossaries, and reference materials
- Ensure cultural and linguistic appropriateness of source content in the target language
- Conduct language quality checks before delivery to ensure error-free, accurate translations
- Meet deadlines and stay within project budgets
- Review formatted PDF files for accuracy, marking corrections using Adobe markup tools
- Communicate professionally and timely with Prisma team members
- Participate in quality management initiatives, such as CARs and RCAs
- Protect sensitive information (PHI, PII, SBU) with utmost confidentiality
- Adhere to Prisma’s policies outlined in the MSA and Vendor Guide
