Position Overview

As a Medical Assistant at LA CENTA, you will be a vital part of our clinic’s success. Reporting to the Medical Assistant Manager and then the Office Manager, you will assist with patient intake, explain procedures, support clinical processes, and help ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 📝

• Patient Rooming: Prepare patients, verify information, record medical history, and perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature).
• Documentation: Record patient history, medical records, and intake information accurately in the EMR system.
• Coordination of Care: Assist physicians with procedures and coordinate patient care under physician guidance.
• Room Management: Organize exam rooms, stock supplies, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean environment.
• Medication Entry: Enter patient medications into the EMR after each visit.
• Record Management: Manage medical history forms, HMO authorizations, outside medical records, and other documentation.
• Administrative Support: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and obtain outside medical records when needed.
• Confidentiality & Compliance: Safeguard patient information and adhere to legal and safety standards.
• Supply & Equipment Maintenance: Monitor supplies, troubleshoot equipment, and notify management of repairs.
• Continuous Education: Participate in training and stay updated with professional publications.
• Practice Standards: Uphold professional standards, policies, and regulations to protect both patients and the practice.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support clinic operations.

Qualifications 🎓

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program
• Experience in Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy clinics preferred
• Fluent in both English and Korean mandatory
• Knowledge of HIPAA and CPT coding
• Willingness to travel to multiple Los Angeles clinics (e.g., Arcadia, Pasadena, Hollywood)
• Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently with high accuracy
• Proficient with office equipment and software
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude towards healthcare

Physical Demands 💪

• Sitting for extended periods
• Repetitive hand and finger movements
• Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 10 lbs.
• Travel between clinic locations as needed

Work Location & Schedule

This is an in-person, full-time position based in Arcadia, CA, with travel to other clinic sites within Los Angeles.
