Job Overview: Korean Language Instructor

Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Deliver 3-5 hours of daily language courses across ILR levels 0-3.
- Assessment: Complete training to become a certified language tester, conducting 3-4 proficiency assessments weekly.
- Culture & Language Education: Teach speaking skills and cultural understanding in foreign contexts.
- Materials Development: Create customized class materials and training aids based on student needs.
- Language Skills: Apply strong foreign language skills, working under experienced senior instructors.
- Current Events Familiarity: Stay updated on current events in the target language countries.
- Training & Certification: Undergo sponsor-specific training to meet certification standards.
Required Qualifications ✅
- Education: Bachelor's in education, foreign language, or linguistics (10-12 years of relevant experience) or Master's with 2-10 years relevant experience. Additional experience can substitute for degree.
- Teaching Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct teaching.
- Language & Location: Degree obtained in the U.S. or a country where Korean is natively spoken.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and basic internet research.
- Communication: Excellent presentation and communication skills in both English and Korean.
Language Proficiency Requirements 📄
- Pass LEIDOS-approved translation test (3 hours) with a score of 4+.
- Achieve a 5/5/5 score in speaking, listening, and reading on the ILR scale.
Security Clearance 📜
- Must hold or obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance; Leidos will sponsor candidates after passing all language tests.
- Clearance must be fully adjudicated before employment begins, with work only permitted once secured.
Preferred Qualifications 🌟
- Experience within U.S. Intelligence, military, or law enforcement sectors.
- Fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
- Previous exposure to cryptologic or national security environments.
