About the Role
Position: Korean Language Instructor
Location: Support for national security missions with sponsorship for security clearances
Languages Required: Korean
We are looking for a seasoned instructor with a robust background in foreign language instruction, adult learning methodologies, and a dedication to excellence. The role involves delivering language training, conducting proficiency assessments, and fostering linguistically prepared professionals for critical national security needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 3–5 hours of daily instruction across courses ranging from ILR levels 0–3.
- Complete training and become certified as a language tester, conducting 3–4 proficiency assessments weekly.
- Instruct students in speaking, understanding culture, and applying communication skills in a foreign language.
- Develop tailored class materials and training aids to meet individual student needs.
- Work under the guidance of experienced senior trained instructors, utilizing strong foreign language skills.
- Maintain awareness of current events in relevant countries to inform instruction.
- Participate in sponsor-specific training to achieve certification in language teaching and testing standards.
Required Qualifications ✅
- Bachelor’s degree in education, foreign language, or linguistics with 10–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2–10 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for education.
- At least 2 years of direct language teaching experience.
- Degree obtained from the U.S. or a country where the target language is natively spoken.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic internet research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Korean.
Language Proficiency Requirements 🗣️
- Pass a LEIDOS-approved translation test (3 hours) with a score of 4 or higher.
- Achieve a minimum of 5/5/5 in speaking, listening, and reading on the ILR scale.
Security Clearance 🔐
- TS/SCI with polygraph, with sponsorship available for TS/SCI with poly.
- Must obtain an adjudicated TS/SCI clearance before starting work.
- Leidos will sponsor candidates after successful completion of all language testing.
Preferred Qualifications 🌍
- Experience within the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
- Fluency in multiple languages is highly advantageous.
- Prior exposure to cryptologic or national security environments.
