Korean Language Instructor

Leidos is seeking a dedicated Korean Instructor to support a high-priority customer mission. This full-time, in-person role combines teaching with language assessment responsibilities, ideal for passionate language educators with experience in adult learning.

🌟 Role Overview

• Deliver 3–5 hours of language instruction daily across proficiency levels ILR 0–3
• Create customized instructional materials and training aids
• Undergo sponsor-provided certification to become a language tester
• Conduct weekly language proficiency assessments post-certification
• Foster cultural immersion through language teaching, integrating current events and cultural knowledge
• Collaborate with senior instructors to uphold standards and curriculum quality

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or country of the target language; experience may substitute for a degree
• At least 3+ years of direct adult teaching experience, or 8–12 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience
• Proven ability to develop instructional materials tailored for adult learners
• Knowledge of the ILR Scale, current events, and cultural developments in Korean

📝 Language Testing Requirements

• Pass a Leidos-administered or approved commercial translation test (3 hours)
• Minimum passing scores:
  • English test: 90% or higher
  • Translation Test: 4 or higher
  • Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI): 5/5/5 (Speaking/Listening/Reading)

🔒 Security Clearance

• No clearance required to apply; capable of obtaining a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (must be fully adjudicated before work begins)
• Leidos sponsors candidates after successful completion of all required language tests
• Work can only commence with a fully adjudicated security clearance
