Position Overview

The In-Person Interpreter is responsible for facilitating onsite communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) community members and the practitioners serving them across various settings. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to expand your interpreting business with access to multiple sessions daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow ethical standards and procedural requirements tailored to interpreting contexts
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a passion for interpreting
• Speak clearly in both languages, ensuring proper pronunciation and respectful expressions
• Render accurate concepts and meanings, adhering to interpreter protocol

Qualifications

• Fluent in both source and target languages, with strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and write proficiently in the requested languages
• Completion of Bridging The Gap Medical Interpreting Testing or accredited Medical Interpreting Training
• National Medical Interpreter Certification by CCHI or NBCMI (preferred)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Entry-level position
