About the Role

As an Over-the-Phone (OPI) Interpreter at Homeland Language Services, you will facilitate clear communication between non-English and English speakers across various industries. Our interpreters are linguistic experts known for their speed, accuracy, and cultural tolerance, ensuring transparency and professionalism in every call.

Worldwide (excluding the USA)

Your Responsibilities 💼

• Answer calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
• Take notes during calls to ensure accuracy.
• Familiarize yourself with industry-specific vocabulary, especially in healthcare and medical fields.
• Participate in internal professional training sessions.
• Strive for acquiring new professional certifications.
• Communicate effectively and report to your team leader.

Qualifications & Experience ✅

• Bilingual or native-level proficiency in English and Korean.
• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology.
• Legal terminology knowledge is a plus.
• International healthcare industry certifications like PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA are advantageous.
• High school diploma in your native language.
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.
• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.

Technical Requirements 💻

This is a remote position, so a reliable home office setup is essential:

• Mac or PC with MacOS 10.13 or Windows 10 or newer, with Pentium or i3 processor.
• Minimum 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended).
• Reliable wired internet connection with at least 4 Mbps download/upload speed (Wi-Fi is not permitted).
• Noise-canceling wired USB headset.
