Position Overview

The Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator works closely with the Director of Early Childhood Education to mentor teachers, incorporate Jewish traditions into daily practice, and foster reflective teaching. This role is pivotal in shaping a child-centered, emergent curriculum that honors Jewish values and promotes meaningful connections with families and the community. Flexibility is key, as the Coordinator may need to substitute across classrooms as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

🧠 Supporting Educators in Seamless Judaism & Constructivist Practice

  • Serve as a resource for integrating Jewish values, holidays, rituals, and basic Hebrew into daily classroom activities
  • Model and support creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences aligned with our philosophy through coaching and partnerships
  • Ensure classrooms foster physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development, respecting diverse learning styles and needs
  • Utilize reflective supervision to enhance teachers' reflective practices
  • Encourage inquiry and authentic interactions with Jewish rituals and traditions through environmental supports
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop a materials library emphasizing open-ended, natural materials
  • Support educators in addressing educational challenges, promoting autonomy, and improving classroom practices
  • Coordinate with our Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to support children’s individual and group needs

📝 Observation and Documentation Support

  • Conduct classroom visits to facilitate reflection and documentation of children's learning
  • Help make learning visible through teacher supports for writing Remini posts and Learning Stories
  • Ensure completeness and quality of documentation including assessments, conference materials, and digital posts

🌱 Promoting Professional Development

  • Support teachers in developing observing, listening, documenting, and research skills
  • Maintain a resource library for ongoing educator growth
  • Assist in creating individual growth plans for teachers, with goals and resources
  • Facilitate monthly team meetings to foster collaboration and reflection
  • Pursue continuous personal learning on Jewish early childhood pedagogy and research

🤝 Collaborating with the Administrative Team

  • Contribute to program policy development and quality monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with Colorado State childcare licensing regulations
  • Participate in meetings, training, and community initiatives
  • Assist in establishing classroom policies and evaluating teacher performance
  • Support the integration of school values into daily practices
  • Make educational supply recommendations and respond to urgent situations in collaboration with leadership
  • Promote reflective practices, professionalism, and a growth mindset within the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Master’s preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience working with children aged 1–5 years
  • Deep knowledge of Jewish traditions, rituals, and values, with ability to integrate meaningfully into learning environments
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Constructivist, Emergent, or Reggio Emilia approaches, including coaching
  • Strong communication skills—written and verbal—with diplomacy and discretion
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively

Compensation & Benefits 💰

Hourly Rate: $26–$30, commensurate with education and experience
