Located in Bryn Mawr, PA (metropolitan Philadelphia), Barrack Hebrew Academy serves students in grades 6-12 from Philadelphia, its suburbs, Allentown, southern New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware. Position: Jewish Studies Teacher

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and caring educator to join us as a full-time Jewish Studies teacher. The role begins in late August 2025 and involves inspiring students through engaging lessons and building an inclusive classroom environment. 🤝

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver student-centered Jewish Studies (including rabbinics, theology, ethics, culture, etc.) and Tanakh courses 📚
• Lead a Shaharit group Monday–Thursday mornings 🌅
• Serve as a student advisor, fostering growth and engagement
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curricula and infuse joy and passion into Jewish learning
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and collaborative efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with experience teaching middle and/or upper school students (grades 6–12); Master’s degree or rabbinic ordination preferred 🎓
• Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for teaching middle and high school students
• Capability to differentiate instruction and develop curricula in partnership with colleagues
• Proficiency in teaching and reading Jewish sources in Hebrew
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff
• Kindness, patience, a good sense of humor, and a growth mindset 😊
• Experience with classroom technology including Google Suite, learning management systems, and email management
