Heilicher Jewish Studies Position (including Hebrew Language) 2025-2026

Position Overview

Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School is seeking a dedicated and creative full-time Jewish Studies educator, including Hebrew language instruction, for the upcoming school year. Our school serves students from Kindergarten through 8th grade and welcomes families seeking a high-quality secular and Jewish education.

Reporting and Collaboration

This position reports directly to the Director of Jewish Living and Learning. Heilicher teachers are expected to be collaborative team players, innovative thinkers, enthusiastic supporters of colleagues and school initiatives, and models of professional excellence. They will embody the school's mission within a diverse and inclusive Jewish community.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach Hebrew language, Bible/Rabbinic literature, Jewish holidays and customs, prayers, and Israel 🇮🇱
  • Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to productive learning 🧹
  • Provide accommodations and modifications to support all students' success 🎓
  • Assess student progress relative to learning standards 📊
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families ✉️
  • Collaborate with colleagues on unit and lesson development 🤝
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in both Hebrew and English 🗣️✍️
  • Support inquiry and problem-based learning initiatives 🔍

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Teaching certificate or BA in Education; BA or MA in Jewish Studies/Education preferred 🎓
  • Successful experience teaching Hebrew and Jewish Studies courses 🧑‍🏫
  • Training or experience with Legacy Heritage Standards and Benchmarks, differentiated instruction, technology integration, and working with diverse learners is a plus 🌟
