Position Details 📋
This role reports directly to the Director of Jewish Living and Learning. Smith teachers collaborate as part of a dynamic team, promoting innovation, community, and professional growth. Our educators serve as role models who embody the school's mission within an inclusive Jewish community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ✨
- Teach Hebrew Language, Bible/Rabbinic Literature, Holidays & Customs, Prayers, and Israel studies
- Maintain an organized classroom to foster an efficient learning environment
- Provide accommodations and modifications to support all learners' success
- Assess and communicate student progress toward mastery of standards
- Engage with parents through regular communication
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop and implement engaging units and lessons
- Exemplify excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English
- Advocate for inquiry-based and problem-solving learning approaches

- Attend two parent-teacher conferences and prepare report cards
Qualifications & Requirements 🎓
- Teaching certification or BA in Education (required); MA in Jewish Education preferred
- Successful experience teaching Hebrew and Jewish Studies courses
- Experience with Legacy Heritage Standards and Benchmarks, differentiated instruction, and technology integration is a plus
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is desirable
