Position Details 📋

This role reports directly to the Director of Jewish Living and Learning. Smith teachers collaborate as part of a dynamic team, promoting innovation, community, and professional growth. Our educators serve as role models who embody the school's mission within an inclusive Jewish community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities ✨

  • Teach Hebrew Language, Bible/Rabbinic Literature, Holidays & Customs, Prayers, and Israel studies
  • Maintain an organized classroom to foster an efficient learning environment
  • Provide accommodations and modifications to support all learners' success
  • Assess and communicate student progress toward mastery of standards
  • Engage with parents through regular communication
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop and implement engaging units and lessons
  • Exemplify excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English
  • Advocate for inquiry-based and problem-solving learning approaches

Qualifications & Requirements 🎓

  • Teaching certification or BA in Education (required); MA in Jewish Education preferred
  • Successful experience teaching Hebrew and Jewish Studies courses
  • Experience with Legacy Heritage Standards and Benchmarks, differentiated instruction, and technology integration is a plus
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is desirable
