Gray Is Hiring A Japanese Speaking Project Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and monitor job progress using QMS programs, including scheduling, estimating, and budgeting to ensure project timelines are met.
- Perform quantity take-offs, create cost estimates, and solicit bids.
- Research options and regulations as needed.
- Order and coordinate delivery of materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to specifications and budgets.
- Review and approve invoices and change orders.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors to cover all scope of trades.
- Review shop drawing submittals from vendors and subcontractors as directed.
- Be ready to relocate to project sites (if required) to familiarize with procurement and construction practices.
- Attend weekly job site meetings and assist in preparing project reports such as progress schedules, billings, and status updates.
- Organize and maintain project files to ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide verbal and written reports on project status to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Implement and enforce Gray’s safety policies on-site.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications. Knowledge of scheduling software is a plus.
- Energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented professional with a passion for collaboration and professional growth.
- Must be physically present at the Birmingham office (note: location may need verification as the job mentions Charlotte or Atlanta).
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Team members will frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, talk, and hear. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching are often required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. Vision abilities include near and distance sight.
Work takes place in moderate-noise office environments with controlled temperature and humidity. Occasionally, there may be exposure to weather elements, mechanical parts, and high or precarious places. Overtime and travel might be necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Indirect supervision of subcontractors and field personnel.
