Position: Japanese / English Interpreter & Translator

Location: Near Leonia, NJ (with up to 20% travel domestically and internationally)

Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt

Salary Range: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year

A globally renowned high-performance materials manufacturer and sustainability leader is urgently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional to support executive-level communication. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in interpretation and translation, with the confidence to perform in fast-paced, high-level environments.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Interpretation: Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during high-level meetings involving the President, CFO, and VP-level executives.
• Executive Support: Assist the President with accurate and timely interpretation in formal and informal settings.
• Document Translation: Translate business and financial documents to facilitate clear cross-language communication.
• Confidentiality: Handle sensitive executive information with strict discretion.
• Travel Support: Accompany the President domestically and internationally (~20%) to provide interpretation services, including overnight stays.
• Collaboration: Work closely with executive staff to understand and convey nuanced business and financial terminology.
• Onsite Meetings: Attend daily onsite meetings in Teaneck, with schedule flexibility based on travel and interpreter needs.

🎓 Requirements

• Bilingual Fluency: Proficiency in Japanese and English (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
• Professional Experience: Proven interpretation and translation experience in a corporate or executive environment
• Terminology Knowledge: Strong understanding of business and financial terminology
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in international business, management, or related field
• Interpretation Skills: High accuracy in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills in both languages
• Discretion: High level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
• Technical Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel domestically and internationally (~20%)
