Our client, a distinguished public accounting and consulting firm, is looking for a Tax Manager to serve as a core leader within their team. This role involves managing tax engagements, acting as a primary client liaison, and playing a vital role in team development.
📝 Key Responsibilities
- Engagement Oversight: Plan, execute, and supervise multiple tax projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Technical Review: Evaluate complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, dual-status, and expatriate filings, leveraging your professional expertise.
- Regulatory Liaison: Draft correspondence with federal and state taxing authorities and represent clients during audits.
- Research & Analysis: Interpret tax laws related to intricate transactions and audit inquiries; review junior staff’s research efforts.
- Transfer Pricing & Provisions: Analyze transfer pricing studies and tax provisions for accuracy and compliance.
- Client Consultation: Lead client meetings, provide strategic advice, and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Team Leadership & Development: Foster a positive, inclusive work environment, coach team members, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Professional Growth: Stay current on emerging tax laws and deepening tax expertise.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, with a focus on tax.
- Licensure: Active CPA or EA license required.
- Experience: At least 5 years working within a public accounting firm in tax services.
- Technical Skills: Experience preparing diverse tax returns, including individual, business, real estate, and exempt organization filings.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in tax software, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Project Management: Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and team management abilities.
- Language: Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese.
- Preferred: Prior experience as a Tax Manager is advantageous.
