Responsibilities and Job Description

The Strategy Unit manages a variety of client engagements related to strategy consulting, including:

• Market research, market entry & business development, strategic planning consulting
• Business due diligence, joint ventures, and partnership support
• Turnaround & restructuring, corporate governance consulting

As a manager, your responsibilities include leading project execution and managing a team of consultants. Key tasks involve:

• Conducting market, competitive, and regulatory research in related industries (primary & secondary research)
• Managing client delivery, including project proposal acquisition
• Mentoring junior team members and fostering team development
• Presenting compelling business cases and strategic recommendations to clients
• Preparing report deliverables mainly in Microsoft PowerPoint
• Collaborating with team members across Japan, Singapore, and other APAC regions
• Additional tasks required for project success and client satisfaction

Requirements

• Experience: 7–10 years in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate planning roles (5+ years for Strategy Consulting firms)
• Language: Business-level proficiency in Japanese (N1 level)
• Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems logically across various industries
• Educational Background: Degree in business-related fields (accounting, finance, marketing) is advantageous
• Professional Traits: Ownership mindset, eagerness to learn beyond comfort zones
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
• Work Authorization: Must have valid authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided
