This remote role requires California residency to effectively service clients and comply with state-specific regulations.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Review: Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for entities such as S-Corporations, Partnerships, C-Corporations, and High-Net-Worth Individuals.
  • Engagement Management: Oversee multiple tax engagements simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy.
  • Client Consultation: Act as the primary contact for routine tax matters, communicating filing needs and technical positions proactively.
  • Technical Research: Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues, drafting clear memo documentation to support compliance strategies.
  • Mentorship: Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff, providing feedback to foster their professional growth.
  • Tax Planning: Collaborate with Managers and Partners on year-end tax planning and projections to identify savings opportunities.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive tax preparation and review experience
  • Active CPA license or progress toward obtaining it (e.g., some CPA exam sections completed)
  • Proficiency in professional tax software, Microsoft Excel, and related accounting tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Current California residency is mandatory for the duration of employment
  • Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Availability to travel approximately once per month (2-3 days as needed)
