Role Overview

This EN/JP Bilingual Production Editor position (Contract) leverages your love for English and Japanese, requiring proficiency in grammar, consistency, and Magic knowledge. Your focus will be on ensuring all text elements for Magic card sets and related materials meet our high-quality standards—covering grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, clarity, tone, and layout. You will mainly coordinate production editing with Japanese-language partner organizations.

This role is eligible for remote work within the United States, adhering to Wizards of the Coast’s remote work policies and business needs.

What You'll Do ✍️

• Perform copy editing and proofreading on English and Japanese Magic cards, packaging, and related assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Magic style and terminology.
• Build and maintain records in our Magic card set database and supporting documentation.
• Translate presentations, feedback, and supporting materials between English and Japanese for Universes Beyond cards and packaging.

What You’ll Bring 🎯

• 2+ years of experience as a paid copy editor or proofreader, with proven expertise in editing both English and Japanese-language content, plus strong attention to detail.
• 2+ years of Magic playing experience; familiar with both historical and current Magic cards.
• Professional proficiency in English (speaking and writing), and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand Japanese at a professional level (N3 or higher). Passion for Japanese culture and IPs is a plus.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset with an ongoing curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Collaborative spirit combined with confidence to engage effectively with team members.
• Experience with Smartsheet, databases, InDesign, or InCopy is an advantage.

Additional Details 📌

This is a temporary assignment providing services to Wizards of the Coast through an external staffing agency. Employed by Workwell as a W2 employee, you will not be an employee of Wizards.

• Employment Type: Contingent Worker
• Location: Washington (WA) or fully remote within the U.S.
• Duration: Up to 12 months
• Starting Pay: $40/hour
• Pay Range End: $50/hour
