Location & Hours
Location: El Monte, CA
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8AM – 5PM
Essential Job Functions
- Support the Accounting Manager in monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports and statements 📊
- Supervise all procedures for Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams
- Manage ledger entries, banking reconciliations, and prepare monthly balance sheets
- Investigate daily variances, identify errors, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and systems supporting internal controls
- Assign accurate accounting codes to invoices, files, and receipts for proper record-keeping
- Support compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, applicable laws, and company policies
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff, including recruiting and performance evaluations
- Enhance workflow and efficiency during ERP system implementation
- Review payroll, vendor payments, commissions, and other disbursements for accuracy
- Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors
- Attend company events outside regular working hours 🎉
- Perform additional assigned duties
- Report to management as required
Physical Requirements
- Sit and work in an office environment for extended periods
- Use a computer continuously, typing and navigating software
- Ability to talk, hear, walk, stand, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Work Conditions: Indoor, normal to loud noise levels
Other Requirements
- Business-level English (reading, writing, speaking, listening) ⭐
- Business-level Japanese; fluent proficiency preferred
- Maintain a positive attitude and adaptability to changing workloads
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
- Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in supervisory roles
- CPA License and JSOX experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft ERP systems (Business Central, Dynamics NAV) and QuickBooks
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced mathematical skills — profit margins, markups, discounts, inventory counting, measurement conversions
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time management abilities
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, laws, and standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 🖥️
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Mentoring and staff management excellence
- Experience with bank reconciliation and credit card transaction tracking
