Position Details

• Title: Italian Teacher
• Terms of Employment: 10 Months
• FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The teacher will implement weekly lessons based on the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements and course syllabi. You will foster an educational atmosphere that promotes effective student learning. Reports will be made directly to the Director of Implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer district curriculum aligned with the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements.
• Conduct classes in Italian, exclusively during instructional hours.
• Create and sustain a positive, academically focused environment.
• Develop and implement effective lesson components.
• Analyze student progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Foster a classroom climate conducive to positive learning.
• Ensure all students have access to a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in additional job-related duties and activities as assigned.

Position Expectations

• Deliver instruction effectively within a secondary virtual classroom setting.
• Collaborate cooperatively with students, colleagues, and management.
• Guide learning toward curriculum achievement.
• Set and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Utilize diverse instructional techniques aligned with objectives.
• Engage actively with fellow faculty members.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies.
• Continuously improve professional skills.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Demonstrate foreign language proficiency at the Advanced-Low level per ACTFL standards.

Position Requirements

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid teaching license issued by a state department of education.
• Appropriate foreign language endorsement matching the assignment.

Technology Requirements

• Internet: Consumer-grade WiFi or wired connection.
• Internet Speed: 15 MBPS Download / 5 MBPS Upload (check via speedtest.net)
• Computer: Processor: 1.5 GHz Single Core or higher, RAM: 4GB+, compatible with Windows 7/8/8.1/10 or Mac 2014+, no Chromebooks.
• Monitors: Laptop + External Monitor OR Desktop monitor + External Monitor.
• Camera: Webcam or HD webcam.
• Audio: Built-in, USB, or Bluetooth microphone/headset.
