Overview

Leidos is seeking passionate and experienced language educators with a focus on adult learning. Candidates should be adaptable, culturally knowledgeable, and prepared to support security clearance requirements. We can sponsor the clearance process for qualified applicants who pass the necessary language assessments. 🚀

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 3-5 hours of daily language instruction across ILR proficiency levels 0-3.
• Create customized instructional materials and effective training aids tailored to individual learning objectives.
• Complete sponsor-provided training to become certified in conducting language proficiency assessments.
• Conduct 3-4 proficiency assessments per week post-certification.
• Teach language through cultural immersion, utilizing a strong understanding of culture and current events.
• Collaborate with senior instructors to maintain high standards and curriculum quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution or from a country where the target language is spoken. Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience requirements:
  • At least 3+ years of direct adult teaching experience; or
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience; or
  • A master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in developing instructional materials for adult learners.
• Familiarity with the ILR scale and current cultural and linguistic developments.

Language Testing Requirements

• Must pass a Leidos-administered or approved commercial translation test (3 hours).
• Minimum passing scores:
  • Translation Test: 4 or higher
  • Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI): 4/4/4 (Speaking/Listening/Reading)

Security Clearance

• No clearance is required to apply.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is necessary; clearance must be fully adjudicated before commencing work.
• Leidos will sponsor eligible candidates after passing all required language assessments.
