Italian Instructor
Leidos is seeking a passionate and experienced Italian Instructor to support a high-priority government mission. This full-time, in-person role involves teaching, language assessment, and cultural immersion to adult learners, with security clearance sponsorship available.
Key Responsibilities 🇮🇹
- Provide 3–5 hours of daily language instruction across proficiency levels ILR 0–3.
- Develop customized instructional materials and training aids tailored to individual learning objectives.
- Undergo sponsor-provided training to become a certified language tester.
- Conduct 3–4 language proficiency assessments weekly post-certification.
- Teach language through cultural immersion by leveraging knowledge of language culture and current events.
- Collaborate with senior instructors to uphold instructional standards and curriculum quality.
Minimum Qualifications 🎓
- A Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or the country where the target language is spoken (substitutions for experience are possible).
- At least one of the following:
- 3+ years of adult teaching experience
- 8–12 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in developing instructional materials for adult learners.
- Familiarity with the ILR scale, current events, and cultural developments in the target language.
Language Testing Requirements 📝
- Must pass a Leidos-administered or approved commercial translation test (3 hours).
- Minimum passing scores:
- Translation Test: 4 or higher
- Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI): 4/4/4 (Speaking/Listening/Reading)
Security Clearance 🔐
- No clearance required to apply.
- Need to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (must be fully adjudicated before starting).
- Leidos will sponsor candidates after successful completion of all required language assessments.
- Only fully adjudicated security clearance holders can begin work.

Compensation 💵
Pay Range: $92,300.00 – $166,850.00
