Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Service Delivery Manager and Academic Specialist, the Italian Language Instructor demonstrates expertise in language instruction and acts as an ambassador for Berlitz. You will teach assigned classes, support students, participate in professional development, and uphold Berlitz’s teaching standards.

🎯 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with Berlitz teaching principles, focusing on students’ goals, needs, and interests.
• Conduct assessments such as level evaluations and needs analyses as assigned.
• Work with private, group, in-person at the Learning Center, offsite locations, or virtually.
• Participate in regular meetings with the Academic Specialist for lesson evaluation and coaching to enhance teaching skills and meet SMART goals.
• Complete required training through the @Berlitz Learning website or face-to-face sessions.
• Maintain accurate student records including pedagogical notes and attendance.
• Integrate learning technology into your teaching and manage shared resource materials.
• Perform additional duties delegated by the Service Delivery Manager or Academic Specialist to ensure quality delivery.

🕒 Delivery & Availability

In-person teaching at Berlitz DC Language Center or Tysons. Flexible daytime hours required.

📚 Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Teaching experience is a bonus but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic administrative and computer skills for lesson delivery and record-keeping.
• Flexibility with work hours and schedules.

💪 Essential Physical Functions

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, handle objects, and exert up to 10 pounds of force as needed.

This role operates within a professional office ambiance, routinely utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

💵 Salary

\$23.00 per hour
