Summary of the Position

Under the guidance of the Service Delivery Manager and Academic Specialist, the Italian Language Instructor demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering engaging, student-centered language education. As an ambassador for Berlitz, you will teach assigned classes, support student needs, participate in professional development, and uphold our teaching principles and customer service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 🚀

• Deliver engaging lessons: Focus on students' goals, needs, and interests in accordance with Berlitz teaching principles.
• Conduct assessments: Perform level evaluations and needs analyses as assigned.
• Support diverse learning settings: Teach private and group lessons either at the Learning Center, offsite locations, or virtually.
• Collaborate regularly: Meet with the Academic Specialist for lesson evaluation and coaching to improve teaching skills and achieve SMART goals.
• Engage in ongoing professional development: Complete training modules via the @Berlitz Learning website or live sessions.
• Maintain records: Keep student pedagogical and attendance records current.
• Integrate technology: Utilize learning tools effectively and organize shared teaching resources.
• Perform additional duties: Carry out tasks delegated by the Service Delivery Manager or Academic Specialist for effective teaching operations.

Delivery Format & Availability 🕒

In-person instruction at Berlitz DC Language Center or Tysons, with availability during daytime hours.

Qualifications & Experience ✅

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Teaching experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to speak and communicate effectively in English
• Strong communication skills
• Basic administrative and computer skills for lesson delivery and record-keeping
• Flexibility in work hours and availability

Essential Physical Functions ⚙️

While performing this role, employees are regularly required to speak and listen, stand, walk, use hands for handling objects, reach, and occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to move items.

Work Environment 🏢

This position operates within a professional office environment, utilizing standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Compensation 💰

Salary: $23.00 per hour
