Overview

As an Investment Services Representative, you will provide clients with professional, efficient, and knowledgeable service via phone and electronic communications. This is a full-time, shift-oriented position with potential options for remote work or at the contact centre. Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the listed locations.
Business hours: Sunday 6:00pm EST through Friday 8:00pm EST (overnight hours included); Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm EST. Flexibility to work various shifts during these hours is essential.
Responsibilities
- 🔍 Proactively identify customer needs and guide clients to appropriate RBC Direct Investing products and services through effective communication and probing skills.
- 🎯 Meet performance metrics for all client interactions—verbal or written.
- 🌟 Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing at all times.
- 📱 Promote the RBC Direct Investing website and mobile services, encouraging self-service options.
- 🤝 Deliver helpful, engaging, accurate, and professional service, including executing trade instructions promptly and courteously within regulatory guidelines.
- 📜 Understand and apply industry rules (e.g., CIRO, Provincial) and RBC policies in all activities.
- ✔️ Execute client instructions accurately and ensure compliance with trade settlement obligations.
Qualifications for Success
Must-Have Skills & Credentials
- ✅ Ability to work independently with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including multitasking.
- 🎓 University or College degree/diploma or minimum 1 year of relevant client service experience.
- 🗣️ Strong English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription), with attention to detail.
- 😊 Excellent customer service and professional telephone skills.
- 🗣️ Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- 📝 Completion of the following exams or certifications (must be completed within specified timeframes):
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start date), or
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher (ongoing),
- 🛡️ CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval).
- 📈 Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start date).
Nice-to-Have Qualities
- 🔝 Prior completion and maintenance of CIRE or CFA Level 1 and Derivatives Exam.
- 🇫🇷 Fluency in French.
