Investment Services Representative

About the Role
As an Investment Services Representative, you will provide clients with helpful, engaging, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable service over the phone or through electronic communications. Your attention to detail, diligence, and ability to maximize productivity both individually and as part of a team are essential to your success.
Success in this role depends on effective problem resolution, exceptional client service, and expert securities knowledge. The environment is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and team collaboration. 🤝
Position Details
- Type: Full-time, shift-oriented role with potential remote work and/or contact centre location.
- Location: Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of listed Centres or Hubs.
- Business Hours: Sunday 6:00 pm EST – Friday 8:00 pm EST (overnight hours included); Saturday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST.
- Flexibility: Candidates must be flexible to work various shifts within these hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify customer needs through effective communication and probing, guiding clients to suitable products and services offered by Direct Investing. 💡
- Meet specified performance metrics for all client interactions, whether verbal or written.
- Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc. at all times.
- Promote RBC’s website and mobile capabilities, encouraging self-service opportunities for clients.
- Provide helpful, accurate, responsive, and professional services, including prompt and courteous trade instruction processing via telephone or electronic means, complying with regulatory requirements.
- Understand and apply relevant industry rules and regulations (e.g., CIRO, Provincial) along with RBC policies and procedures.
- Accurately execute client instructions within authorized limits and ensure clients meet trade settlement obligations.
Qualifications for Success
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Ability to work independently with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and multitasking ability. ⏱️
- University or College degree/diploma, or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience.
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription), with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and professional telephone skills.
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- Successful completion of required exams within specified timelines:
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start).
- OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher.
- CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval).
- Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start).
Nice-to-Have Skills & Certifications
- Prior completion and maintenance of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) or CFA Level 1 and Derivatives Exam.
- Fluency in French.
