Overview

If you have a client-focused mindset and the ability to identify client-centric solutions, this role offers a fantastic chance to develop your skills while supporting clients over the phone or through electronic communication. Your diligence, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities will be key to your success, especially in a fast-paced team setting. This is a full-time, shift-oriented role with options for remote work or working at the contact centre, depending on eligibility.

Location & Hours

Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the listed centers or hubs. Business hours are as follows:

  • Sunday 6:00 pm EST to Friday 8:00 pm EST (overnight hours included)
  • Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST

Flexibility within these hours is essential, with the potential for shift variation.

Key Responsibilities

  • 🔍 Proactively identify opportunities to fulfill customer needs via effective communication and probing skills, guiding clients to available products and services offered by RBC Direct Investing.
  • 🎯 Meet specified performance metrics for all client interactions—verbal and written.
  • 🌟 Maintain a professional and positive image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc.
  • 🔧 Promote and demonstrate the capabilities of the RBC Direct Investing website and mobile app, identifying self-service opportunities for clients.
  • 🤝 Provide helpful, knowledgeable, accurate, and courteous service, including prompt trade execution via telephone or electronic means, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • 📜 Understand and apply industry rules/regulations (e.g., CIRO, provincial) and internal policies to all activities.
  • ✅ Accurately execute client instructions within defined authorities and ensure clients meet trade settlement obligations.

Success Factors

Must-have Skills & Qualifications

  • 🕒 Ability to work independently with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; adept at multitasking.
  • 🎓 University or College degree/diploma or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience.
  • 🗣️ Excellent English communication skills—verbal, written, and transcription—with keen attention to detail.
  • 😊 Exceptional customer service skills with friendly, professional telephone demeanor.
  • 🈵 Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
  • 📝 Completion of the following exams within specified timeframes:
    • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start date) OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher, maintained regularly.
    • CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days post-licensing approval).
    • Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start date).

Nice-to-have Skills

  • ✅ Prior standing (regulatory) completion and maintenance of CIRE or CFA Level 1 and Derivatives Exam.
  • 🇫🇷 Fluency in French.
