Investment Services Representative

Overview

As an Investment Services Representative, you'll deliver professional, efficient, and knowledgeable service via phone and electronic communications. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.

Position Details

  • Type: Full-time, shift-oriented role
  • Work Environment: Potential to work from home and/or at the contact centre
  • Location: Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of a Centre or Hub listed in the locations

Business hours: Sunday 6:00 pm EST – Friday 8:00 pm EST, with overnight shifts; Saturday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST. Flexibility to work various shifts during these hours is required.

What Will You Do? 🎯

  • Proactively identify customer needs through effective communication and probing skills, guiding clients to available products and services
  • Achieve and maintain specified performance metrics for all client interactions (verbal and written)
  • Uphold a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc. at all times
  • Promote RBC Direct Investing website and mobile functionalities, identifying self-service opportunities
  • Deliver helpful, knowledgeable, accurate, and responsive services, including prompt trade execution via telephone or electronic means within regulatory guidelines
  • Understand and adhere to industry rules (e.g., CIRO, Provincial) and RBC policies and procedures
  • Execute client instructions accurately within defined authorities and ensure clients meet trade settlement obligations

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must-have Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • University or College degree/diploma, or a minimum of 1 year of relevant client service experience
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription), with attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service and professional telephone skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
  • Completion of required exams within specified timelines:
    • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start date)
    • OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher
    • CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval)
    • Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start date)

Nice-to-have Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) or CFA Level 1
  • Fluency in French
