Role Overview
As an Investment Services Representative, you will provide clients with helpful, professional, efficient, and expert securities advice over the phone or electronically. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment are essential to your success.
This is a full-time, shift-oriented position with potential options to work remotely or at the contact centre. Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of a designated Centre or Hub.
Business Hours: Sunday 6:00 pm EST – Friday 8:00 pm EST (overnights included); Saturday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST. Flexibility to work various shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities 📝
- 🔍 Proactively identify customer needs through effective communication and probing, guiding clients to suitable products and services.
- 🎯 Adhere to specified performance metrics across all client interactions (verbal and written).
- 🤝 Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc.
- 💻 Promote and demonstrate the RBC Direct Investing website and mobile features, encouraging self-service options.
- ✔️ Provide helpful, knowledgeable, accurate, and prompt service for trade instructions via phone or electronic means, complying with regulatory standards.
- 📜 Understand and apply industry regulations (e.g., CIRO, Provincial) and RBC policies in all activities.
- 📥 Execute client instructions accurately, ensuring clients can meet trade settlement obligations.
What You Need to Succeed
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications ✅
- 🕒 Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- 🎓 University or College degree/diploma, or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience.
- 📝 Strong English communication skills—verbal, written, and transcription—with excellent attention to detail.
- 😊 Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, professional telephone manner.
- 🔤 Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- 🧾 Completion of mandatory exams within specified timeframes, including:
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks),
OR
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher. - 🔥 Completion of CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training within 15 days of licensing approval.
- 📅 Derivatives Exam to be completed within 35 weeks of start date.
Nice-to-Have Capabilities ✨
- Prior standing with Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) or CFA Level 1 and Derivatives Exam.
- Fluency in French.
