About the Role

As an Investment Services Representative, you will provide clients with helpful, engaging, professional, and knowledgeable support via phone and electronic communications. Your attention to detail and dedication to problem-solving will be crucial to your success, along with your ability to deliver outstanding client service and possess securities expertise.

Note: Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the listed contact centres or hubs. Business hours are Sunday at 6:00 pm EST through Friday at 8:00 pm EST, including overnight shifts, with Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST. Flexibility within these hours is required.

What You'll Do

  • 🔍 Proactively identify customer needs through effective communication and probing, guiding clients to available products and services.
  • 🎯 Meet and exceed performance metrics for all client interactions, verbal and written.
  • 💼 Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing at all times.
  • 📱 Promote the functionality of RBC Direct Investing's website and mobile platforms, encouraging self-service options.
  • 📝 Provide accurate, helpful, and responsive services, including prompt trade instruction processing via telephone or electronic channels, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • 🛡️ Understand and apply industry regulations (e.g., CIRO, provincial rules), along with RBC policies and procedures.
  • 🔑 Execute client instructions accurately within authorized limits, ensuring trades meet settlement obligations.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications

  • ✅ Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with multitasking ability.
  • 🎓 A university or college diploma, or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience.
  • ✍️ Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription), along with analytical and organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • 🤝 Exceptional customer service and professional telephone communication skills.
  • 🗣️ Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
  • 📝 Completion of the following exams within specified timeframes:
    • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start date)
    • OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher (ongoing maintenance included)
    • CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval)
    • Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start date)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • ✅ Prior completion and maintenance of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) or CFA Level 1.
  • 🗣️ Fluency in French.
