Investment Services Representative

About the Role
As an Investment Services Representative, you will:
- Provide clients with helpful, engaging, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable service via phone and electronic communication 💬📞
- Identify client-centric solutions with a diligent attention to detail and maximize productivity individually and as part of a team 📈
- Resolve client concerns effectively, ensuring exceptional service and securities knowledge are at the forefront 💡
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where adaptability is key ⚡
This is a full-time, shift-oriented role, with potential for remote work and/or contact centre placement. Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the listed locations.
Business hours: Sunday 6:00 PM EST – Friday 8:00 PM EST (overnight hours included); Saturday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST. Flexibility to work various shifts within these hours is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify customer needs through effective communication and probing to guide clients toward suitable products and services 🔍
- Meet performance metrics for all verbal and written client interactions 🎯
- Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc. at all times 🏢
- Promote and familiarize clients with RBC Direct Investing's website and mobile features, encouraging self-service options 📱💻
- Provide accurate, courteous, and responsive service, including executing trade instructions promptly within regulatory guidelines ⚖️
- Understand and adhere to industry rules and regulations (e.g., CIRO, provincial) as well as RBC policies 📜
- Execute client instructions accurately and inform clients on meeting trade settlement obligations ✅
What You Need to Succeed
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Proven ability to work independently with excellent time management, organization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills ⏳🛠️
- University or College degree/diploma or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience 🎓
- Strong English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription) along with analytical and organizational abilities 🗣️✍️
- Exceptional customer service and friendly, professional telephone communication skills 📞
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese 🀄️
- Completion of required exams within specified timelines:
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks)
- OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher
- CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval)
- Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Prior completion and ongoing maintenance of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) or CFA Level 1
- French language proficiency 🇫🇷
