About the Role
As an Investment Services Representative, you will provide clients with professional, efficient, and knowledgeable assistance via phone and electronic communications. Your ability to identify client-centric solutions and resolve issues effectively will be key to your success.
This is a full-time, shift-oriented position with potential opportunities for remote work and/or at our contact centre location. Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the designated Centre or Hub.
Business Hours & Flexibility
Our operational hours are:
- Sunday 6:00pm EST – Friday 8:00pm EST (overnight shifts possible)
- Saturday 9:00am – 6:00pm EST
Flexibility to work various shifts within these hours is required.
Your Responsibilities
- 🔍 Proactively identify customer needs and guide clients towards suitable products and services through effective communication and probing skills.
- 🎯 Meet performance metrics for all client interactions (verbal or written).
- 🏢 Maintain a professional image of RBC and RBC Direct Investing Inc. at all times.
- 🌐 Promote the RBC Direct Investing website and mobile tools, identifying self-service opportunities for clients.
- 🤝 Deliver helpful, accurate, and courteous service, including prompt trade execution via telephone or electronic channels, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- 📜 Understand and adhere to industry rules (e.g., CIRO, Provincial regulations) and RBC policies.
- ✔️ Accurately execute client instructions within authorized limits and ensure trade settlement needs are met.
What You Need to Succeed
Must-have Skills & Qualifications
- 🕒 Ability to work independently, managing time efficiently, multitasking, and solving problems effectively.
- 🎓 University or College degree/diploma or at least 1 year of relevant client service experience.
- 📝 Strong English communication skills (verbal, written, transcription), analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- 😊 Exceptional customer service and professional telephone manner.
- 🗣 Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- 📜 Completion of the following exams within specified timeframes:
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (within 15 weeks of start date)
- or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 or higher (valid ongoing maintenance)
- CIRO Mandatory Conduct Training (within 15 days of licensing approval)
- Derivatives Exam (within 35 weeks of start date)
Nice-to-have Skills
- ✅ Prior completion and ongoing maintenance of CIRE or CFA Level 1 and Derivatives Exam.
- 🇫🇷 Fluency in French.
