About the Role

Are you looking for a flexible opportunity that works around the school schedule? This position follows a Monday-Friday schedule until June 2026. We are seeking dependable and experienced interpreters fluent in English and Punjabi. You will provide essential language support within a Nassau school district, directly assisting students, teachers, and parents.

Work Location & Schedule

• Position on-site at a school in a Long Island school district 🏫
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, until June 2026 📅
• Travel is required to various school sites 🚗

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Communication Skills: Ability to professionally, concisely, and accurately communicate across cultures in both verbal and written forms in English and Punjabi 🗣️✍️
• Fluency: Native-level proficiency in both English and Punjabi 🏆
• Time Management: Capable of maintaining schedules and completing tasks punctually ⏰
• Policy Adherence: Ability to follow all policies and procedures outlined by the agency 📋
• Experience: Three or more years of professional experience providing language services (preferred) 🌟

Key Responsibilities

• Attend in-person meetings between parents, students, and school staff to facilitate communication in English and Punjabi 🏫🤝
• Interpret clearly and accurately, conveying the tone and intent of the original speaker 🎙️
• Understand that some concepts, idioms, and slang do not translate directly between languages 🔄
• Assist with written and oral communication as needed ✉️
