Key Skills and Qualifications 🎓

• Communication Skills: Ability to professionally, concisely, and accurately communicate across cultures in both verbal and written English and Punjabi.
• Fluency: Native-level proficiency in English and Punjabi.
• Technological Proficiency: Experience with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other remote communication tools.
• Time Management: Capable of maintaining a schedule and completing tasks promptly.
• Policy Adherence: Ability to follow guidelines set by the language service agency.
• Experience: A minimum of three years providing professional language services preferred.

Interpreter Responsibilities 🎤

• Attend in-person and/or remote meetings between parents, students, and school staff to facilitate clear communication in English and Punjabi.
• Interpret accurately, conveying the tone, mood, and intent of the original speaker.
• Navigate idioms, slang, and culturally specific concepts that may not directly translate.
• Assist with written and oral communication tasks as needed.

Additional Responsibilities 📋

• Accurately interpret conversations and translate written documentation, maintaining the original tone and nuance.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients including parents, students, and staff.
• Manage time and workload efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Engage with clients virtually, via phone, or in person, ensuring timely and effective communication.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and expand educational vocabulary.

Qualifications & Requirements ✅

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Punjabi.
• Experience interpreting and translating in both languages.
• Availability to travel to NYC school district sites as needed.
• Capability to work remotely with reliable Wi-Fi and necessary equipment.
• Monday through Friday availability for assignments.
