This position allows you to make a meaningful impact by providing essential language support in school settings across the Clinton school districts, both on-site and remotely. 🏫🌐

Position Overview

In this role, you will support students, teachers, and parents during peak times, special projects, or to cover absences. The role offers flexibility, allowing you to work when it suits your availability, while helping bridge communication gaps in educational environments. 🌟

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Communication: Ability to professionally, concisely, and accurately communicate across cultures in both verbal and written English and Japanese.
• Fluency: Native-level proficiency in English and Japanese.
• Technological Proficiency: Experience with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other remote platforms.
• Time Management: Capable of maintaining schedules and completing tasks on time, following agency policies and procedures.
• Experience: Three or more years of professional language service experience is preferred.

What You'll Be Doing

• Attend in-person and remote meetings between parents, students, and school staff to facilitate communication in English and Japanese.
• Interpret clearly and accurately, conveying tone and meaning, understanding that idioms and slang may not translate directly.
• Assist with written and oral communication as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret conversations and translate written documents, maintaining original tone and intent.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, including parents, students, and educators.
• Manage your schedule effectively to ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Engage with clients virtually, over the phone, and in person, providing prompt and professional communication.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to expand educational vocabulary and skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and Japanese.
• Proven experience with interpreting and translating in these languages.
• Ability to travel to school sites within the Clinton School Districts.
• Reliable remote work setup with strong Wi-Fi and necessary equipment.
• Availability Monday through Friday with a flexible work schedule.
