Are you seeking a flexible role that adapts to your schedule? Language Service Agency is looking for dependable and experienced English and Urdu interpreters to provide critical language services in NYC school districts. This on-site and remote position offers the chance to utilize your language skills, support diverse communities, and work around your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend in-person and remote meetings between parents, students, and school staff to facilitate communication in English and Urdu.
• Interpret clearly and accurately, conveying tone and intent, while recognizing that some idioms and slang may not have direct translations.
• Assist with written and oral communications as needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including parents, students, and educational staff.
• Manage your schedule effectively to ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Connect with clients via virtual platforms, phone, and in person, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance educational vocabulary and interpretation skills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Language Fluency: Native-level proficiency in English and Urdu (speaking, reading, writing).
• Experience: At least three years of professional language services experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other remote communication tools.
• Time Management: Ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with agency policies and procedures.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to school sites across NYC.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday in a flexible schedule.
