This role is crucial in helping missionaries fulfill their calling by providing interpretation for non-English speaking missionaries at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo. Interpreters support the sharing of the restored gospel by facilitating communication and translating essential materials.

📝 Job Description

The interpreter will:

• Interpret for over 25 different meetings during the missionaries' stay at the MTC
• Provide translation services for various projects and curriculum as assigned
• Participate actively in team training sessions
• Help foster an environment of harmony, trust, and goodwill within the department and the MTC
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Interpretation Coordinator, including assisting with the Mission Leadership Seminar

Reports to: Supervisor or Trainer in the training department.

• Translate materials accurately and efficiently
• Support team and department initiatives
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

🎓 Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience speaking a second language
• Native or near-native proficiency in English and French, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and social context
• Strong interpretation skills
• High understanding of gospel terminology, including familiarity with "Preach My Gospel"
• Physical capacity to sit for long periods and operate monitors/equipment

• At least 1 year experience as an interpreter or translator
• Advanced translation skills and experience
